I started this week by researching how to create textures in Photoshop using various filters; this has helped me gain a better understanding of the filters and create wood textures for the second page of the novel. After importing and applying all the textures, I finished the silhouettes and increased the poker table's height. Warping the textures using the perspective tool has helped me in understanding how textures should look as well as learning a new easy way to fill empty shapes. With page two complete I began to work on the third page during the Celebration Of Learning early this week, it was a productive event and an awesome way to showcase what I had made so far. The shading is nearly done now, once it is I will be fixing the shoes as they are out of place then move onto the background. As I am now on winter break I should be able to dedicate more time towards this project and hopefully it shall be complete soon.

Despite all the great progress this week, there is still much left to be done before the celebration of learning next week. Last weekend I started to work on the finer details of the second page; however, I've been more focused on the third page as I'm looking into how to make a proper texture for the wood. I've primarily been finishing the line art, shading, and lighting of the third page, I haven't run into any roadblocks or issues yet because since the first page I've learned new techniques. I've added and details the ears, shoulder pads, trench coat, hair, and most noticeably also basic shading. Over the weekend and next week, I plan to finish the second page. If I can finish the character illustration of the third page I'll start on the background. If all goes well, hopefully, I can have three pages printed for the celebration of learning. This week for my VAM 30 special project, I finished the line art on my third illustrated page and have nearly completed filling in the base colours. I've been quite productive as I've taken advantage of some new Photoshop tricks and techniques. Over the weekend I did some research on how to improve my clothing wrinkles and fixed the disproportional arms. The most noticeable changes this week are probably the addition of a face, hair, hands, and shoes. There is still some line art to be finished or adjusted, such as the ears, mouth, and belt, but I've put my focus into colouring for the past two days. Starting next week, I hope to finish this character illustration and move on to creating a simple background for it.
